Bricks / Maps widget testing
Google Maps integration in Bricks is via their, “Map” widget.
It supports latitude and longitude (on top of the standard physical address notation) – so that’s great – as we know from testing already that inputting the physical address into other maps widgets that it puts the marker in the wrong position (so using lat and longitude is good – as it gets us around these wee Google Map bugs).
Looking good too – methinks. Have a play with the Bricks Maps Styling features for yourself.
I’ve set the: Title (to: Rebecca Finch Counselling), Subtitle (to: Building 6) and Content (to: 6 Hazeldean Road) fields.
This pops when you click on the marker. If the fields are blank, I imagine nothing happens at all.
As said, do have a look at the Bricks Maps widget features for yourself.
The map might look better full width?
Let’s bust out of a “container” and put in a (new) Section (with no bounding “inner” container) – and duplicate our Map widget in that (so it’s therefore full width).
Let's add some more Bricks widgets...
Just so we can have a bit of a looksee at how they work.
Here’s the ‘Accordian’ Bricks widget (can this work like an FAQ?)
Item or FAQ #1
I am a so called subtitle. Here’s the content (or answer of course is what it could be for an FAQ).
Item 2 or another FAQ question
I am a so called subtitle. And the answer to this FAQ (or anything).
(How does this accordian widget work – we shall find out.)
Cool, well I think with some styling that’d do the job as an FAQ nicely.
Here’s the next one…
“Nestable Accordian” widget – fuck it creates a lot of items in the Structure upon adding! 🙂
Accordion 1
Lorem ipsum dolor ist amte, consectetuer adipiscing eilt. Aenean commodo ligula egget dolor. Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Donec quak felis, ultricies nec, pellentesque eu, pretium quid, sem.
Accordion 2
Lorem ipsum dolor ist amte, consectetuer adipiscing eilt. Aenean commodo ligula egget dolor. Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturient montes, nascetur ridiculus mus. Donec quak felis, ultricies nec, pellentesque eu, pretium quid, sem.
Okay… new Block, and here’s a “Divider” widget. Often these are just a line across the page (a divider! 🙂 ).
Here’s the “Icon List” widget
(I see it pre-populates with social media icon examples – I suppose that’s quite a nice way of demonstrating itself).
So these are, typically:
Icon followed by Text
Icon followed by Text
Icon followed by Text
etc etc. the default widget just shows three items, and are in a line ( you can typically style them to appear below each other. I haven’t looked! 🙂 ).
Okay… here’s the “List” widget
Self-explanatory? I think so.
- List item #1
- List item #2
I am an alert.
This is the “Anim typing” widget – animated text I suppose.
Yet to check its properties out also – there’s the default widget…
Okay, here’s a “Facebook” widget.
I wonder what that does?
Well.. found out that the Facebook widget doesn’t work in Firefox (it’s a bit fussy like that.
Working fine in Edge and I have no doubt it’ll be fine in Google Chrome also…
